Administration and Office
J. Kelly Keele, President of the Board----
From 1978 through 2000 Kelly worked as a Licensed Social Worker. In 1996 Kelly and his brother, Joe, co-founded Children’s Supportive Services. Their goal was to offer the services and supports for children with a Serious Emotional Disturbance needed to remain in their homes and communities. In the Spring of 2001 his brother passed away and Kelly took over as Administrator. Over the past ten years Kelly led the company through a restructuring adding a new Clinical Director while adjusting to the changing environment for child and family behavioral health services. Since October of 2013 he has served as the Community Mental Health Provider on the Jeff D Implementation Work Group. This is resulting in a new comprehensive system of care within the Youth Empowerment Services program. He also maintains active involvement in the Idaho Association of Community Providers on the legislative committee to insure needed services are available. Kelly continues his work towards seeing Joe’s full vision of a system of care where all needed community services for children and their families are available.
Hello! My name is Shawna and I am currently the Administrator of Children’s Supportive Services, Inc. I’ve got a long history with CSS, going back to 1998, when I first started working in Partial Care doing my bachelor’s level internship through Idaho State University. I then went on to pursue my Master’s Degree from Walla Walla College and graduated from that program in 2002. In 2004, I decided to broaden my experience and I left CSS (regrettably, but that’ll be explained) and went to work for the Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Behavioral Health, as the Adult Mental Health Crisis Team Clinical Supervisor for Region 7. That is the LONGEST job title that I’ve held. But alas---in 2011, my draw to working with children and families took over and I was excited to be able to return to my home at CSS. I enjoy working with kids and families and supporting them as they are working through whatever life challenges have presented to them. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
If you have called or come to the office, you have probably spoken with me. My name is Karen Nickey and I have worked at CSS since 2005. I currently manage MANY duties to help the agency run smoothly and effectively.
I love doing creative things like crafting, DIY and listening to music. Spending time with my daughter is very important to me.
My name is Corene R. Peterson. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy doing therapy with children, adults, and families. I have training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems, parenting and working with those with anxiety and depression. In my off time, I enjoy traveling with my husband to see our children and grandchildren.

many various mental health and behavioral health issues. She has over 13 years of experience working in the mental health field. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and families. She is experienced with cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, solutions focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
